The Residential Life Council exists to serve the residents of Furman University. Whether that is acting as liaison between students and housing, or providing practical services, RLC aims to make living at Furman just a little bit better. We work at putting your ideas for improving residential life into action. Tri Delta has provided me with long-lasting friendships and a support system that constantly encourages me to be the best version of myself. St. Jude is our national philanthropy. I have been able to participate in numerous fundraising events and further pursue my passion for service.
Teens With A Mission (TWAM) was a mission group I was involved in at my church in high school. We participated in local mission trips throughout the year in preparation for our week-long mission trip to Costa Rica every summer. In San Jose, we worked with a non-profit called Homes of Hope to build a house for a family. In addition, we visited a local orphanage and Salvation Army. This was a humbling experience and opened my eyes to the way poverty looks in other countries.
The CCC is a free-medical clinic for the uninsured or underinsured in Rowan County. I started volunteering there my junior year of high school. I helped to fill Diabetes Bags for patients, input patient information into their database, and make appointment reminder calls.
